When & Where the Legend Took Place
The legend of El dorado took place in the 16th century to the 17th century in the New World (otherwise known as South America). The legend was based on a Musica chief called El dorado or “the gilded one”. The chief and his tribe were located near the Lake Guatavita( near Bogotá, Columbia) where the chief performed religious ceremonies. As the legend started to become a city of gold and jewels the geographical location of El dorado shifted throughout the years, until eventually it was meant to located somewhere in South America.
